CONSTITUTION OF THE SOCIETY
FaEkir4 Operatic S(Kiety (SCIO) was fornied in 2015 and is the successor body to Falkirk
Op¢rati¢ Society. The assets of Falkirk Operatic Society were transferred to F&lkirk Operatie
Society (SCIO with effect from 7th August 2015. The Committee (TNsle¢s) are elected by
rnembers at the Annual General Meeting of the Society and hold offLce until the close of the
next Ar￿Ual General Meeting.
The Society is affiliated to the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA). This
body has no responsibility for Ihe running of Ihe Society and is an umbr¢lla organisalion
dedicated to the promotion of 8maieur theatre.
The sC￿lety is also a rnember of Falkirk Arts Network (FAN), (fornierly Falkirk Arts & Civic
Council) this is an umbrella organisation which liaises between ils member organisations and
Falkirk Council. This body may also make grants 10 Ils member wh¢re appropriate.
PURPOSES OF CHARITY
The Society shall encourage the participalion of and edU￿tion of.the youth of the a￿a in
musi¢al theatre. The society shall take perforniances into the area with particular focus on
groups and organisations supporting the elderly and dlsabled. The s￿Iety shall support other
charitable organisations where appropriale. Tlus is accomplished through charity collections
during our productions.
APPOINTMENT OF TRUSTEES
The Trustees are ¢I￿ted by the members of the Society. No ¢xt¢rnal body has the right to
make such appointments to the Comrnittee (Trustees).

ACTIVITIES
At the company AGM in July 2024 the decision was made to spend the year to May 2025 fiu
raising to increase the funds available to be used for fiLture productions. The Company
orgatiized several ￿nd raislng events including a Quiz Night, a Clwkstmas Concert and a Race
Night. The trustees then consulted with the con]pany and n￿de a decision to plan a production
for September 2025 and started rehearsals.
LEVEL OF RESERVES
The ¢utteni level of reserves amounts to £10270.24 in the bank account and £1480.92 Gash in
harld. This represents an increase from the previous years accounts. This was entirely due to
the fund raising events organized by the company.
TRUSTEES REMUNERATION
The Trustees of the Society do not receive any remuneration for their services. Expenscs are
reimbursed.
DONATED FACILITIES
Members of the Society donate their time and money to support the work of the Society. They
also donated goods and funds to support the raffles etc
