aware of their responsibilities as a trustee prior to being accepted
into their role and given guidance by a more senior trustee. No

||The aim of the band is the advancement of the education of the||

general public in brass band music by:-
Meet regularly, normally once a week, to develop skills and to
rehearse,
Perform the brass band repertoire at public galas, concerts and
other community events,
Compete in local and national brass band contests.||
||Rehearsals apart from a couple of weeks off during holidays were held weekly||

during 2025, additional rehearsals were held in preparation for special events such as
contests and the creation of an ensemble group for concerts.
The band performed at a numerous performances throughout the year. Including old
favourites, such as the parks in Dundee, as well as new venues such as the V&A
Dundee and Arbroath's Path Way For All. Some concerts were paid while others were
performed free of charge for the community.||

## **Achievements and performance**
**Summary of the main achievements of** The band continues to flourish with new members joining **the charity during the financial period** throughout the year. We have performed more concerts this year than we ever have previously. Unfortunately the council no longer fund concerts in the local bandstands but the band have continued to play at these events free of charge in order to keep bringing brass band music to the people of Dundee. The band have created a new ensemble group to play at smaller events, a substantial amount of new music was bought for this group. Also, the band invested in purchasing a full set of chairs to allow us to set up and play at multiple events where chairs were not always available. The band also continued to invest in updating its music library with new christmas music being bought and performed. The band held their first annual awards night in 2025. With 3 awards voted for by the band members, one award given by the conductor, 6 long service medals given by the Scottish Brass Band Association, and 1 honorary membership given to a player who had played in the band for over 75 years. This received several write ups in the local newspaper.
## **Financial review**
**Brief statement of the charity’s policy** The band's primary running costs are just over 2k for a year, 4.5k **on reserves** is held as reserve in a savings account which is enough to cover the band's running costs for 2 years without any income. **Details of any deficit** No deficit was procured in 2025. **Donated facilities and services (if any)** Following the cessation of the councils Summer Parks concert programme, the band performed 6 gigs through the summer in return for bucket donations. Also concerts, both ensemble and full band, were provided for free at local venues including the remembrance service on HMS Unicorn, 2 carol concerts at the V&A Dundee and one for a local community group at their Christmas light switch on.
