ThetrusteeswhoarealsodirectorsofthecharityforthepurposesoftheCompaniesAct2006,presenttheirreportwiththe financial
statementsofthecharityfortheyearended30June2025.ThetrusteeshaveadoptedtheprovisionsofAccountingandReporting by
Charities:StatementofRecommendedPracticeapplicabletocharitiespreparingtheiraccountsinaccordancewiththe Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019).
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Objectives and aims
The objects of the charity are:-
(1)TorelievetheneedsofelderlypersonsresidentintheIsleofHarrisbytheprovisionoffundstoenableotherstocarry out
household duties or other work to enable the said elderly persons to continue to reside in their own homes;
(2) To provide through a funeral association financial assistance towards the cost of funerals in case of need.
(3) To provide financial assistance for the purchase of medical equipment and
(4) To provide bursaries to students going on to further education from Sir E Scott School, Tarbert, Harris.
In2008,thecharityacquiredthecapitalofMrsMaureenMogg'sLiferentTrust('MoggFund'),whichwastreatedasa separate
restrictedfund.ThepurposeofthisfundwasforthebenefitofchildrenintheIsleofHarriswhoaredisadvantagedorgiftedto assist
with the cost of furthering their potential in their chosen field of arts or profession through further education.
Asboththefundshavecommonaims,thetrusteestookthedecision,afterreceivingappropriateadvice,tomergetheMogg Fund
with the Catherine M Macleod Fund to reduce administrative costs. The funds were merged on 31 March 2019.
Significant activities
Duringtheyear,awardsofassistancehavebeenmadeinaccordancewiththeobjectsofthecharity,withgrantstoindividuals of
£10,800 (2024 - £7,800) and grants to institutions of £11,500 (2024 - £6,000).
Grantmaking
Details of the grants awarded during the year are included in the notes to the financial statements.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Charitable activities
The Trust continues to offer grants and bursaries for the benefit of residents in the Isle of Harris area.
Investment performance
Thecharity'sinvestmentportfolioismanagedbyRathbones.Thevalueofthecharity'sportfolio,whichincludesbonds, equities,
alternative assets and cash balances, has increased by 1.9% over the year to 30 June 2025 (2024 - 5.3% increase).
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Financial position
Duringtheyearthecharity'sexpenditureexceededincomeresultinginanetoperatingdeficitof£11,597fortheperiod(2024- net
operatingdeficitof£2,866).Realisedandunrealisednetgainsonthecharity'sinvestmentportfolioat30June2025amounted to
£12,677(2024-netgainsof£26,849).Thishasresultedinanoverallsurplusfortheyearof£1,080(2024-surplusof £23,983).
Thisrepresentsanincreaseof£1,080inunrestrictedfundswhichhaveasaresultincreasedto£479,650(2024-£478,570). Total
funds of £479,650 were held at year-end (2024 - £478,570).
Reserves policy
ThereservesoftheTrustrepresenttheCatherineMMacleodFundandtheMoggMemorialFundwhichweremergedon31 March
2019.TheFundshavebeeninvestedinthecharity'sinvestmentportfolio.Thecharitycontinuestomanageitsinvestments and
reserves in order to have adequate investment income available to make meaningful payments to eligible beneficiaries.

Governing document
Theorganisationisacharitablecompanylimitedbyguarantee,incorporatedon6January2000andwasregisteredasa Scottish
charityon7February2002.ThecompanywasestablishedunderaMemorandumofAssociationwhichestablishedtheobjects and
powersofthecharitablecompanyandisgovernedunderitsArticlesofAssociation.Intheeventofthecompanybeingwound up
members are required to contribute an amount not exceeding £1.

STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Recruitment and appointment of new trustees
Thedirectorsareappointedbythenominatedmembers,eachnominatedmemberbeingentitledtoappointonedirectoror,if an
individual,toserveasadirectorhimself.Membershipofthecompanyconsistsonlyofnominatedmembers,being individuals,
institutionsandorganisationswhosupporttheobjectsofthecompanyandwhomtheBoardshalldeemappropriateto be
represented amongst the membership of the company and shall so nominate for representation.
Organisational structure
The board consists of voluntary directors who manage the affairs of the charity through regular board meetings. The
board members are heavily involved in the day to day operations of the charity.
Induction and training of new trustees
The charity undertakes training for trustees to ensure awareness and understanding of:-
-
the responsibilities of directors;
-
the organisational structure of the charity;
-
the financial position of the charity; and
-
the future plans and objectives of the charity.
Risk management
Thetrusteeshaveadutytoidentifyandreviewtheriskstowhichthecharityisexposedandtoensureappropriatecontrolsare in
place to provide reasonable assurance against fraud and error.
Thetrusteeshaveconsideredthemajorriskstowhichthecharityisexposed,inparticularthoserelatingtotheoperations and
finances of the charity, and are satisfied that measures are in place to mitigate exposure to those risks.

I report on the accounts for the year ended 30 June 2025 set out on pages five to thirteen.

toexaminetheaccountsasrequiredunderSection44(1)(c)oftheActandtostatewhetherparticularmattershavecometo my
attention.
Basis of the independent examiner's report
MyexaminationwascarriedoutinaccordancewithRegulation11oftheCharitiesAccounts(Scotland)Regulations2006. An
examinationincludesareviewoftheaccountingrecordskeptbythecharityandacomparisonoftheaccountspresentedwith those
records.Italsoincludesconsiderationofanyunusualitemsordisclosuresintheaccounts,andseekingexplanationsfromyou as
trusteesconcerninganysuchmatters.Theproceduresundertakendonotprovidealltheevidencethatwouldberequiredinan audit,
and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
Independent examiner's statement
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention :

(1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements

to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44(1)(a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations; and
-
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and to comply with Regulation 8 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations
have not been met; or
(2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

1. STATUTORY INFORMATION
TheCatherineMMacleod(Harris)Trustisaprivatecharitablecompany,limitedbyguarantee,registeredinScotland. The
charitable company's registered number and registered office address can be found in the Report of the Trustees.
2. ACCOUNTING POLICIES
Basis of preparing the financial statements
Thefinancialstatementsofthecharitablecompany,whichisapublicbenefitentityunderFRS102,havebeenprepared in
accordancewiththeCharitiesSORP(FRS102)'AccountingandReportingbyCharities:StatementofRecommended Practice
applicabletocharitiespreparingtheiraccountsinaccordancewiththeFinancialReportingStandardapplicableintheUK and
RepublicofIreland(FRS102)(effective1January2019)',FinancialReportingStandard102'TheFinancial Reporting
StandardapplicableintheUKandRepublicofIreland'andtheCompaniesAct2006.Thefinancialstatementshave been
preparedunderthehistoricalcostconvention,withtheexceptionofinvestmentswhichareincludedatmarketvalue, as
modified by the revaluation of certain assets.
Thefinancialstatementsarepreparedinsterlingwhichisthefunctionalcurrencyofthecharity,andamountsarerounded to
the nearest £.
Going concern
Thetrusteeshaveassessedthecharity'sabilitytocontinueasagoingconcernanddonotconsidertheretobeany material
uncertainties about the charity's ability to continue as a going concern.
Financial reporting standard 102 - reduced disclosure exemptions
Thecharitablecompanyhastakenadvantageofthefollowingdisclosureexemptioninpreparingthesefinancial statements,
as permitted by FRS 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland':
the requirements of Section 7 Statement of Cash Flows.
Critical accounting judgements and key sources of estimation uncertainty
Intheapplicationofthecharity'saccountingpolicies,thetrusteesarerequiredtomakejudgements,estimates and
assumptions that affect the amounts reported for assets, liabilities, income and expenditure.
Theestimatesandassociatedassumptionsarebasedonhistoricalexperienceandotherfactorsthatareconsideredto be
relevant. Actual results may differ from these estimates.
Theestimatesandassumptionsarereviewedonanongoingbasis.Revisionstoaccountingestimatesarerecognisedin the
period in which the estimate is revised and in future periods should it affect future periods.
Thetrusteesconsiderthattherearenosignificantareasofjudgements,estimatesorkeyassumptionsthataffectitems in
the accounts.
Income
AllincomeisrecognisedintheStatementofFinancialActivitiesoncethecharityhasentitlementtotheincome,there is
sufficientcertaintyofreceiptandsoitisprobablethattheincomewillbereceived,andtheamountofincomereceivable can
be measured reliably.
Expenditure
Liabilitiesarerecognisedasexpenditureassoonasthereisalegalorconstructiveobligationcommittingthecharityto that
expenditure,itisprobablethatatransferofeconomicbenefitswillberequiredinsettlementandtheamountof the
obligationcanbemeasuredreliably.Expenditureisaccountedforonanaccrualsbasisandhasbeenclassified under
headingsthataggregateallcostrelatedtothecategory.Wherecostscannotbedirectlyattributedtoparticular headings
they have been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources.
Grantsofferedsubjecttoconditionswhichhavenotbeenmetattheyearenddatearenotedasacommitmentbut not

Raising funds
Costs of raising funds consists of investment management costs.
Charitable activities
Charitableexpenditurecomprisesthosecostsincurredbythecharityinthedeliveryofitsobjectsandactivities.It includes
both costs that can be allocated directly to such activities and those costs of an indirect nature necessary to support them.
Governance costs
Governancecostsincludethosecostsassociatedwithmeetingtheconstitutionalandstatutoryrequirementsofthe charity
and include accountancy fees and costs linked to the strategic management of the charity.
Allocation and apportionment of costs
AllcostsareallocatedbetweentheexpenditurecategoriesoftheStatementofFinancialActivitiesonabasisdesigned to
reflecttheuseoftheresource.Costsrelatingtoaparticularactivityareallocateddirectly,othersareapportionedon an
appropriate basis e.g. estimated usage.
Taxation
The charity is exempt from corporation tax on its charitable activities.
Fund accounting
Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees.
Fixed asset investments
Investmentsareinitiallyrecognisedattheirtransactionvalueandsubsequentlymeasuredattheirmarketvalueasat the
balancesheetdateusingtheclosingquotedmarketprice.Thestatementoffinancialactivitiesincludesthenetgains and
losses arising on revaluation and disposals throughout the year.
The Trust does not acquire or use put options, derivatives or other complex financial instruments.
Realised gains and losses
Allgainsandlossesaretakentothestatementoffinancialactivitiesastheyarise.Realisedgainsandlosseson investments
arecalculatedasthedifferencebetweensalesproceedsandtheiropeningcarryingvalueortheirpurchasevalueif acquired
subsequenttothefirstdayofthefinancialyear.Unrealisedgainsandlossesarecalculatedasthedifferencebetweenthe fair
valueattheyearendandtheircarryingvalue.Realisedandunrealisedinvestmentgainsandlossesarecombinedin the
Statement of Financial Activities.
Debtors and creditors receivable / payable within one year
Debtorsandcreditorswithnostatedinterestrateandreceivableorpayablewithinoneyeararerecordedat transaction
price. Any losses arising from impairment are recognised in expenditure.
