In this year we raised funds to help Dumfries.and Galloway CouNcil gallery in Kirkcudbrigh to show the works of Sir HenryRaeburn .We also arranged various lectures and presentations for the Friends of Kirkcudbright Galleries Kbt 2000 Ltd continues to promote the arts in the town .

Objectives: To advance the education of the general public in the works of artists from the South West Scotland area, by:- (i) Creating an appropriate monument to the Kirkcudbright Artists which will secure their place in the History of Scottish Art, enhance the reputation and standing of Galloway in general and Kirkcudbright in particular and provide a platform which encourages the existing artistic interests, both amateur and professional, to flourish, develop and prosper (ii) Promoting and stimulating interest in the Fine Arts in South West Scotland with particular emphasis on Artists with a connection to the South West of Scotland (iii) Staging exhibitions of Fine Art and to promote education in the Fine Arts with the staging of such exhibitions, the acquisition of works of art (iv) Providing the housing of a permanent collection of fine arts in Kirkcudbright (v) Arranging and promoting lectures, demonstrations and competitions and to form classes of instruction so as to bring about a widespread and thorough knowledge of the arts and to promote and encourage the teaching of art in Schools, Colleges and other educational establishments
