Regulation and administration
forest Instrumental Band is regulated and administered on the basis of the Constitution pted in October 1854, as amended by General Meetings held in 1998, 2017, and 2023. Recruitment and appointment of Trustees stees (Management Committee Members) are elected at the Annual General Meeting, and sist of : Office Bearers : a President, a Vice-President, a Minute Secretary, a Treasurer, an Engagement Manager, and a Librarian. Other Members : six Ordinary Members (ie players) and two Honorary Members (ie members of the public), of whom half will retire annually at each AGM, and will be eligible for re-election. tion and appointments are decided by a majority of votes at the AGM. Casual vacancies be filled at an EGM, or by the Management Committee until the following AGM.

8. Purposes of Jedforest Instrumental Band
The Aim of the Band is to advance the education of the public in the art of brass band music in Jedburgh and surrounding area. In furtherance of the above objects, the Band will undertake
the following:
a) the running of a Brass Band;
- b) achievement of the highest possible musical standards;
c) provide teaching and training of young people and adults in musical theory and playing brass instruments.
9. Asummary of our main activities during 2024-2025
The band organisation consists of two bodies — Jedforest Instrumental itself (comprised of experienced players, and competing in the 2 Section of the Scottish Brass Band Association classification), and Abbey Brass Jedforest (our “Training” band for players who are developing their musical skills). In all, we had some 50 players in the organisation during 2024-2025. The band achieved a 2™ place finish at the Scottish area championships in March 2025, and this granted qualification for the second section, National Brass Band Championships of Great Britian held at Cheltenham in September 2025, where the band achieved a 12" place finish. The band have also been promoted to the first section for 2026.
Building works to treat dry rot repairs are now complete, so only normal servicing and day to day repairs continue.

1) Basis of accounting
These accounts have been prepared on the Receipts and Payments basis in accordance with the Charities and Trustee
Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended).
2) Nature and purpose of funds
Unrestricted Funds
The unrestricted fund encompasses all income and expenditure relating to the primary focus activities of the charity, other
than those for which funding is restricted
Restricted Funds
Scottish Borders Council's - Cheviot Neighbourhood Support Fund - £5,000 Towards the extra costs incurred dealing
with the additional dry rot uncovered during band hall repairs.
Scottish Borders Council's - The Jedburgh Common Good Fund - £8,000 towards Jedforest Instrumental Band attending
The National Brass Band Championship of Great Britian, held at Cheltenham
All restricted funds were utilised fully within this current year so there is zero balance to be carried forwards

Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees of Jedforest Instrumental Band SC029173 | report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 30 September 2025 which are set out on page 4.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the 2006 Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
