This charity provides small scholarship travel awards to pupils to pursue their interest in literature. this helps them appreciate and explore the countries and cultures that the authors would have been immersed in to develop a deep understanding and appreciation for the works they have been reading.

Objectives: The purposes to which the Trust Fund (in whole or in part and whether capital or Income thereof) may be applied by the Trustees are the provision of scholarships, awards or prizes to enable pupils of Dollar Academy, Dollar, to travel in order to engage in the study of Literature or the doing of or the provision of anything that in the opinion of the Trustees might be instrumental in the understanding or appreciation of Literature by the pupils of Dollar Academy: Declaring that in the granting of scholarships, awards or prizes and in their disposal of funds within the purposes of the Trust the Trustees shall have a full unchallengeable discretion which shall not be subject to appeal.
