Activities

'It carries out activities or services itself'

'the prevention or relief of poverty','the advancement of education','the advancement of citizenship or community development','the promotion of equality and diversity','any other purpose that may reasonably be regarded as analogous to any of the preceding purposes'

Engender is Scotland's feminist membership organisation, established over 30 years ago as a registered charity to advance equality between women and men. Despite decades of progress, women remain significantly underrepresented in decision-making structures in Scotland and continue to face entrenched barriers in accessing essential services, particularly healthcare. Public policy and services are rarely designed in a way that considers women’s specific experience, limiting outcomes and compounding systemic inequality. At Engender, we envision a Scotland where women and men have equal opportunities in life, equal access to resources and power, and equal safety and security from harm. We address persistent gender inequalities through evidence-based research and analysis, policy advocacy with decision-makers, and empowering women to campaign for systemic change.

Beneficiaries: 'Other defined groups','Other charities or voluntary bodies'
