Oscars is a not-for-profit childcare service with charitable status. Therefore, we require a voluntary Committee to remain operational. I want to thank the Committee for their continued support and dedication to their roles at Oscars.
Our service is registered with Care Inspectorate, and all staff are registered with SSSC, (Scottish Social Services Council). Oscar’s registration allows us to have up to 24 children per day term time and 16 children per day during holidays.

Newsletters
I continued to issue the newsletter to keep our families informed on Government Guidelines and changes to our service informed, important dates, requirements and responsibilities of staff and parents/carers.
We have done away with Facebook after our inspection and use WhatsApp. Parents are communicating more through this.
Activities and Snack
Our activity areas include construction, games table, arts and crafts, technology, physical area, role play and small world area and quiet area. Children have weekly activities and snack choices. The children enjoy participating in science and outdoor activities.
We spend a lot more time outdoors as part of our improvement plan, the children love using the school pitches which the school has agreed to.
Fundraising and Grants
I have applied for various funding however we have not been successful. We have done a few fundraisers including raffles to allow us to celebrate Halloween and Christmas.
Thank you to all who have contributed to helping Oscars to maintain a quality Out of School Care service through this very difficult year.
