## **Objectives and Activities**

The Blairgowrie Riding for the Disabled Group (SCIO) is a voluntary specialist therapeutic service for Blairgowrie and the surrounding catchment area. Its purpose is to enable people with disabilities to ride for the benefit of their health and well-being and to achieve their personal goals.

The Group can be contacted through the Secretary of its Trustees at Silverbirch, Perth Road, Blairgowrie PH10 6QB.

## **Charitable purpose**

The organisation’s purpose is to promote the objectives of the Riding for the Disabled Association incorporating Carriage Driving (Company No 5010395) a charity registered under Charity Number SC039473 (“the Company”) by providing disabled people with the opportunity to ride and/or carriage drive to benefit their health and wellbeing in the Perth & Kinross area.

## **Activities and achievements**

The Trustees have met regularly throughout the year at various locations.

We had a full year of lessons with both primary school and private adult and children riders. This has increased our lesson income. All of the riders were extremely enthusiastic and many came along for additional sessions during the school holidays. We are still going strong as a group and that is very much down to the incredible support we receive from the local community, Easter Rattray Farm and our hard-working volunteers, who continue to care for the ponies and help with lessons.

This year we undertook many fundraising events. The Clip Clop Club 100 draw continues to be successful, and income was supplemented by two coffee mornings including raffle/tombola and bake stalls and a raffle at Tesco. We had an incredible response from volunteers, our landlords and the local community who were very supportive of these events. We’re lucky to have some very talented home bakers among our volunteers! Additional support has also come from Blairgowrie & Rattray Quiz Night, Ericht Scottish Dancing, Angling for Youth and a volunteer’s participation in the Forfar Triathlon as well as various individual/group donations.

Our website at www.blairgowrierda.co.uk continues to feature all our latest news, how people can volunteer with us and find out more about riding lessons, as well as how to join our popular Clip Clop Club 100 draw and much, much more. The site also features a fabulous gallery of our ponies and riders and, if you’d like to support us, you’ll find all the information you need there – including a new Donate Now section where you can feature on our Donor Wall! We also have a Facebook page at www.facebook.com/BlairgowrieRDA where we share lots of photos and updates.

Our volunteers continue to excel themselves and we are extremely grateful for all their ongoing support.
