East Ayrshire Citizens Advice Bureau exists to ensure that people do not suffer through lack of knowledge of their rights and responsibilities, difficulties accessing services, or an inability to express their needs effectively. We provide free, confidential, impartial and independent advice, information, practical assistance and representation to people across East Ayrshire. Our services support individuals and families experiencing issues including welfare benefits, debt, housing, employment, consumer matters, energy costs, health-related concerns and relationship issues. We deliver advice through face-to-face appointments, telephone, digital channels and outreach services from our offices in Kilmarnock and Cumnock. We also use evidence gathered from our clients' experiences to influence policy and campaign for improvements that help reduce poverty, tackle inequality and promote social inclusion.

Objectives: 4.1 the advancement of education. 4.2 the prevention or relief of poverty. 4.3 the relief of those in need. 4.4 the advancement of health. 4.5 the advancement of citizenship or community development. 4.6 the promotion of equality and diversity. and 4.7 the advancement of human rights, conflict resolution or reconciliation, particularly through (but not limited to) the following activities 4.8 the provision of advice and assistance to individuals with a view to improve their understanding of their legal rights and responsibilities, facilitate access and use of the benefit system, and alleviate stress and other anxiety caused by unresolved issues. and 4.9 recruiting, training and developing local citizens who are engaged as volunteers in and for the Bureau, who in turn assist members of the public within the Area of Benefit, and in doing so contribute to the development of the Area of Benefit.
