Riding and equine related activities provide a rare opportunity for mentally and physically disabled persons to participate in outdoor physical activity. Our sessions are open to anyone irrespective of age or disability, provided they can, with help, mount a horse and stay mounted. That said, we do also provide horse care and grooming opportunities for anyone unable to unwilling to mount a horse. Bi-weekly riding sessions are held from March to October at Achnalarig Stables, in Oban. The Group currently has capacity for 12 participants per session. In order that sessions are run safely and with appropriate support for the participants, a minimum of 12 volunteers are required for each session to provide lead rein and side-walking support.
