C1 Nature and purpose of funds (may be stated on analysis of funds worksheets)

The Trust was created by a Deed of Settlement by James Clark, Merchant & Baillie in Old Aberdeen dated 27th October 1807 and registered in the Commissary Court Books of Aberdeen 25th April 1810. The object of the Trust is the establishment of a coal fund for the distribution of coal in winter among poor householders residing in the town of Old Aberdeen, in Spital and Seaton or the lands betwixt Old Aberdeen, Spital, Seaton and the sea. In recent years with fewer and fewer people using coal, the Trustees have distributed electricity vouchers at Christmas to people in the above categones identified by the Minister of St Machar Cathedral.
