F200 was an internal transfer for the hire of the hall. £1518.39 was refunded to cmW￿ as project cancelled because of lack of numbers attending. Hallowe'en Paty received a grant of £6(Y) from CMWFT, they were charged £30 for the use of the hall and when they paid for hall they also refunded an underspend of £31.63 which the hall refunded to cMw￿. The Hall Wi-Fi costs for 2024-25 have been very generously donated by The Health & Well-Being grant is to cover the cost of purchasing a projector and screen for the hall. It is also to cover the cost of employing a co-ordinator to offJanise hall activrties beginning in next financial year. Accounts Prepared by Accounts Checked by 11211212025 18:43 Tue 30 Dec Glendaruel Hall Annual Report 23124 This has been a busy year for our Committee, as we continued to focus on building user groups and consolidating the building a Community facility. Our greatest challenge is the impact of the energy crisis with the hall costing between £18- £40 per hour to run the Hall depending upon the time of year, we continue to work to increase our revenue whilst keeping the hire rates affordable, this is a battle. We are very grateful for the support of the Cruach Mhor Windfarm Trust, who have committed to help with grant support. We have submitted an application which was granted, and at each quarter we submit financial information for a quarterly payment. The energy contract with British Gas ends in September and we will be looking for the best deal then at reduced unit rates. Partnership working was this year's focus, all rural Halls are struggling with rising costs, volunteer fatigue and viability verses cost of use, so we have attended several Scotland wide network meetings and joined Third Sector Networking platforms to share and learn. This has proved a productive experience. We are now part of a local Cowal wide Hall network, connected to the Social Enterprise Network and at a local level to InsirAlba, who provide capacity, business support, legal support and legislative support to organisations in Argyll, they are currently supporting Development Trusts in their work to connect to wider Community organisations, through the creation of local 'project co-ordination, Post. This has meant that we are now working with our local Project Co-ordinator on a CARES funding application, for Solar Panels as part of our focus on sustainability, reducing carbon and costs. At the end of 2024 we were delighted to be awarded the grant and look forward to the work commencing next year. In Additional partnership with our local DT, has secured funding to deliver 'warm hubs, through the Winter months, providing lunches and activities, this is popular and has led to informal local gatherings for other activities such as games and crafts. We wish to continue this project next year as it provides a valuable hub to many members of our Community. It was with great sadness that we made the decision to close the 18 yearlong annual children's Summer School Programme ARC. We were simply not reaching local families and were seeing fewer and fewer local Children attending. The project had originally been established and run by one of our Committee, it was agreed that the structure was in place, however for the project to continue it could only work with the support of local families, and our target user group. We had been awarded funding by the Cruach Mhor Windfarm Trust, the unspent funds were returned. However our work this year has shown that we do have an established Community of Interest, we have moved away from the challenges we faced in 2021 being a new Committee taking on a largely unsupported building and our focus for the coming year is to continue to build a Community hub at the heart of Glendaruel. It is my opinion that the recording practices in place are appropriate for the nature and size of the organisation. My one minor recommendation would be to collect a few additional details on each internal event, such as name of event leader, cash income/donations received, expenses (including notional hall-hire charge), date of deposit, and perhaps attendance numbers. Finally, with GVH becoming a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), the hall committee might wish to consider what level of independent examination or audit will be appropriate going forward, especially given the increased level of reporting required.
