undertakes to contribute such an amount as may be required towards the debts and liabilitN of the
company In the e¥ent of its ￿ng wound up but not exceedmig the sum of £1.

general of the causes of cancer and potential methods of preventirffi. There were no amendn*nts to the

The Twstses assess the major risks to which the Foundation 1$ exposed on an annual basis, in Part￿Ular
those related to the opefations and finances of the Foundation and are satlsfied that systems are in place
to mib'gate any such exposu￿. Risk is reviewed annually when the programme for the coming year is
considered.
Unrestrkted fvnds represent the general funds which the Trustees are free to use in accordance wth the
Foundation's charitable objectives. At 30 September2025 tot81 reserves ofthe chaiity were £24,11012024'.

The Scottish Cancer Foundation is a charity devoted to three main alms..
1. To improve Publ￿ ￿derntanding of can¢er and its treatr￿nL
2. To Pror￿le the preventbon of cancer in Scotland.
3. To nurture (yJllaJorative research in Scotland thatwill have a dI￿t impact on cancer.
It is important to appreciate that these three activities a￿ of the utmost importance. particulady in Scotland,
which has on8 of the highest rates of cancer in Ihe worfd. However. most charib'es and otherfunding bod
are ft￿￿Sed on basic laboratory research that may b8 Im[￿tant for understanding eaftcer but has li1Ig
immediate impact on patient care.

1 Wth the Support ofthe Grant Simpson Trust, the Foundation is continuing to lund tho Scottish Can
F¢)undalion Award and the EvanwForrest Medal. The SCF PrFze for 2024 was not awarded owing to
lack of suitable candidates but was re-advertlsed on 1 March 2025 and has been awarded to Stephen
Mcsorley from Glasgow Ur¢Nersty.

tha importance of exercr6e in cancer prevention. The 2025 event took place on 20 November 2025
when Professor Mark Hull from the UnNersty of Leeds spoke on Dietary Supplements and Can¢er
Prevention.
4. The Scotttsh Cancer Foundation website is upmjated on a regular basis ty Mary Buthè.
5. Thanks to generous donations the Foundation is curfenty funding iwo PhD slud8ntships in Cancer
Prevention. The frst was awarded to Katie Robb {as supervisor) of the University of GlaBgow. The
S￿nd was awarded to Ross Cagan las suwrvisor) ofthe Universty of Glasgow.
