The main purpose of the charity is to encourage safe water sports of all kinds. This includes kayaking, rowing, yachting & more. Considering how accessible the water is to us, we are all about promoting safety in and on the water. A long standing kayaking club is established that we are happy to facilitate, this encourages the youngsters in the village to learn safety. There is also an annual regatta which is held using our facilities. We maintain 4 moorings mainly used by visiting yachts but they can be used by anyone looking for sanctuary, to maintain this we ask for a mooring fee and are luck enough to have the support of a local business. The area is also used by people who have their own pleasure boats and is also used by local fishermen as well. We have two buildings which need to be maintained and this can only be achieved with donations and volunteers giving their time and expertise.
Objectives: (1) To provide, in the interests of social welfare, facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupation available to the public at large within the area served by West Ardnamurchan Community Council ('the Area of Benefit') with a view to improving their conditions of life (2) To advance education and to promote training programmes and opponunities for the benefit of the residents of the Area of Benefit (3) To protect and preserve the environment, including its flora and fauna, for the benefit of the general public (4) To promote, establish, operate and/or support other schemes of a charitable nature for the benefit of the community within the Area of Benefit
