Objectives: The purposes for which the Company is established are the relief of the suffering and distress and the furtherance of the health of persons in the West of Scotland who have cancer and as ancillary to such purposes to:- (i) create a resource centre in the West of Scotland for people with cancer and their carers which will provide information by personal contact, printed material and computer technology and support through psychologists, counsellors and health care professionals: (ii) act as a Scottish focus for educational activities relating to cancer and associated psychosocial issues. (iii) co-ordinate research into the most effective ways of providing information, support and education in the field of cancer care and publish the results of such research. and (iv) provide links between hospital services, academics and the carers of people with cancer in the community.
