The GalGael Trust empowers communities to imagine, determine and ultimately make just futures that meet their needs for living well and sustainably in an increasingly uncertain world. We provide the means to reclaim skills, agency, and wellbeing as part of a learning community. Every week we offer skill sessions, at levels to suit beginners or for those who want to take something a bit further. Current sessions cover an introduction to gardening or woodwork with options and workshops to suit a range of interests and capabilities. Our Garden gives new spaces for us to grow and learn, and gives us the opportunity to reconnect with the land. Folk learn about themselves and others along the way and can join discussions about issues that affect us and our neighbourhoods.

Objectives: 5.1 The Company's main Purpose is consistent with furthering the achievement of a just Scotland. The Company's Purposes are: 5.1.1 Practical responses to poverty and isolation. 5.1.2 Bring learning alive in ways that are relevant to increasing wellbeing and a range of needs. 5.1.3 Create opportunities for people to reclaim their individual and collective health. 5.1.4 Live our values of welcome and respect in ways that embrace racial, religious and other differences. 5.1.5 Offer community spaces and experiences that contribute to improvement in people's life conditions. 5.1.6 Draw on and share rich heritages, traditions and cultures of both old and new Scots. 5.1.7 Connect people to their environment, to each other and to generations to come. 5.1.8 Empower communities to respond to challenges posed by climate change. 5.1.9 To share what we learn with others.
