Charitable Purpo8es The Trust exists for the prescrvation and conservation of a collcrtion of hislorical and educational asset4 for the benefit of the public thTough their use and display. Activities The Kate Kennedy Procession is a pageant. which depicts thc history of Scotland in general and of the town and University of St Andr¢'S in parncular. It has taken place in St Andrews ei'ery Spring (apart from the war }'ears and Iwice during the Covid pandemic) since 1926. Its origins are even older. Mor¢ than 150 historical charncters some of whom ridc in coach¢s or on horseback and all of whom are c{thm. are r¢pr¢wted. The Tst ensures that the coachcs and costumes arc maintaincd and refurbished 01 repaird &s neccssary. The 2025 PsSiOn took place W 19 April and w&s greeted with the customary enthusiasin by crowds of iownsfolk and visitors. For the second year ruIng there was Also a special exhibition of some of the costumes. this time entitled ( Ili=erni ufs'l ApKlreH'J. Wc were gratdul to the town library for hosling it &$ the previous venue. the PreSen.lon Tru MuseunL w&$ being renovated.

We hope that the forthcoming centenary of thc Pro&s1On. in April 2026. will an opp)rninity to meet those challcngcs. as well &s an occ&sion to celebrate. We have alreY b¢en lie1p] by the good otTices and gencrosjty of fornier members of thc kate kennedy Club, who have their own Life Menknrs ASSlaOn (LMA) What w&$ not mentioned in last year's report w&s a long-slanding concern aboui the poiential liabili (due diligenc and indemnity insurance notwithsLqnding) of individual Udent inembcrs of the Club. and indeed of ourselves as trustees. if theTC w¢rc lo b¢ a serious accident at one of the Club's fundraising bdlls or oihcr ev¢nl& or during the Procession itself After much discussion and outside ad1¢¢, li was decided that th¢ Club should b¢wm¢ a SC'IO. Scttjng this up In a robust and efficient way w&5 complicated by the tnple relationship between Club, Trnst and l.MA. It was therefore necessary io lake legal 1viC¢. which was expensive. Fortunalcly, a fornier Club m¢mtKr 4q)F*d in with a gift of £ Iok towards the cost and the SCIO now exisls.
