The charity is set up to educate and promote interest in the Picts, their art, and how they relate to contemporaries in the early medieval insular world. It does this by delivering a monthly lecture programme, an annual conference, day visits to relevant sites, donations to help preserve Pictish sculpture, and by communicating with other bodies such as Historic Environment Scotland and the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland .

Objectives: The object of the Society is to advance the education of the public in all aspects of the early history of Scotland and particularly concerning the art, culture and history of the Picts in Scotland.
