The door was open dailv from the Easier period until laie September, during this lime a steady footfall of visitois came to reflect upon the building and leave donations for the church and for nolelels on offer. It was noted thal on faiT weather day5 wlien the door wa5 visibly open the donations were more. During the above year the church was used for four funera15 and, on a lighter note, one local wedding. During the year the trustees undertook to maintain the housekeeping. This year we held, what ijsed to be, an annual Christma5 Carol Service. We have not had one since 2019 so the reiurned event was welcomed in December. The programme WBS led bv Orkney Rocks, a talented local choir. to get everyone in the festive spirit. This event was the opening of a Christrna5 Tree Festival week. Trees were sponsored at trade price from a generous family run business in Kirkwall. Groups from the School. residential care home, local clubs and a550ciations as well as the trust themselves decorated themed trees for the public to enjoy. At the end of the week the trees were re-homed for a donation. As we return to a more 'normal' time more events are planned for the comin8 church year. Financial Review The trustees have completed renevoations 3n(I refurbishment for the time bein8 and the church looks fresh and clean THe trust continues to be supported by generous individuals and our window cards continue to bring in additional revenue Although we have now had a smart meter installed we still are paying very heaftily for eleclricity - At the current time we have been in touch with SSE and given them a meler reading and asked them to send someone lo check the Supply. The Christmas Tree festival attracted individuals back tg the church and the truslees hope to build on that Foing forward.
