Achlevements and performance
Summary of the maln achievgments of This is our first fvll year clear of Covid Pandemic restrictions. The Group
the charlty durtng the Ilnancial porlod and ils activities are effeclivety back lo normal, although there are, and will
continue lo be, lasting and long temi effects, occasioned by changes in
ath'tudes lo social activities. The principle impacts of these changes are
challenges in parental involvement and in the field of finance and
fundraising. A continued programme of Scouting activities has been
provided for all our Scouts. We suffered some loss of membership during
pandernic reslriclions. but are now back al full strength with potentl81
demand outnumbenng our capacity. We are one of the larger and more
successfvl Scout Groups in our District Each Section meets and exceeds
the minimum standards defined by The Scout Assoaation and the Group
is still very healthy.
We ¢ontinue to provide Scouting of a high standard in all Sections for
Beaver Scouts16-8 years) Cub S¢outs18-10.S yearsl and Scouts
110 5-14.5 years). The Mannofield Explorers114.5-18 years), whilst nol
fomially part of the Group, meet in our hall and ￿ntinUe the provision of
s￿ul￿ng. whilst maintaining links and mutual support. The Judo Club
which was a tennant moved lo other premises leaving HSS. a faith based
meeting group to use our facilities, al highly competitive rental rates. In
keeping with previous reports, "Our conbnued operation in extremely
difficult ¢ircumstsn¢es has been very much appreciated by Scouts and
their parents, as a substantial ¢ontribution lo their physical and mental
wellbeing"
There is a fvlly operational Group Executive Committee, as ￿qUired by
The Scout Association, and elected annually by the Group Council al the
AGM. 11 takes responsibility for all things in support of the uniformed
organisalion. It manages our finances, building and resources which are
currently healthy. A vacancy still exists forA Group Secretary, whose
duties are being perfomied by The Group Chair.
We are well resourced with our own freehold premises, although at over
80 years old it needs constant maintenance. The replacement of the roof
and wall cladding is complete, with tangible benefits lo the comfort of
building users and yet lo be fully assessed, healing costs. Our generous
levels of equipment are maintained and replaced regularfy. Vve continue to
operate minibLtses. Their standing costs do not equal hire costs we
would incur to meet our transport commitments, but this is under review as
replacement costs are considerable and becoming imminent. A per capita
system of payment continues, lo help with maintenance costs.
Contact with ex-members is good. The tradition of our annual Dinner, has
relumed after necessary postponement. There is a Facebook Alumni
Page.

Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of 9th Aberdeen Scout Group Trust
I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 July 2024 which are set out on page
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the
terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts
(Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The charity trustees consider that the audit
requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the 2006 Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my
responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1) (c) of the Act and to state
whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examiner's statement
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts
Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and
a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any
unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the trustees
concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that
would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view
given by the accounts.
Independent examiner's statement
In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention
which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the
requirements:
to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44(1) (a) of the 2005 Act and
Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with
Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations
have not been met, or
2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper
understandin
of the accounts to be reached.
