Objectives: 1 The Company has been formed to benefit the community of Mull, Iona and associated islands as defined by all the postcode units within the postcode districts PA62, PA63, PA64, PA65, PA66, PA67, PA68, PA69, PA70, PA71, PA72, PA73, PA74, PA75 and PA76 (“the Community”) with the following objects: (1) The advancement of community development (including the advancement of rural regeneration) within the Community. (2) To manage community land and associated assets for the benefit of the Community and the public in general. (3) To provide, or assist in providing, recreational facilities, and/or organising recreational activities, which will be available to members of the Community and public at large with the object of improving the conditions of life of the Community. (4) To advance the education of the Community. (5) To advance environmental protection or improvement including preservation, sustainable development and conservation of the natural environment, the maintenance, improvement or provision of environmental amenities for the Community and/or the preservation of buildings or sites of architectural, historic or other importance to the Community. (6) The prevention and relief of poverty. (7) The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. (8) The provision of housing in the Community for those who are in conditions of need and/or the provision of land within the Community on which housing for those in conditions of need will be constructed, provided that this Purpose shall not extend to relieving any local authorities or other bodies of a statutory duty to provide housing. (9) Any other purpose that may reasonably regarded as analogous to any of the preceding purposes. But only to the extent that the above purposes are consistent with furthering the achievement of sustainable development.
