It has recently updated a book called the 'History of the Villages on the Island of Arran', first produced 50 years ago by SWI members from each institute on the island, which sought to inform residents and visitors of the villages' history from the perspective of island reidents.  it supports its members to organise an SWI island golf competition each year and also send local members to the SWI National Goff competition.
