Section C Notes to the Accounts
C1 Nature and Purpose of Funds
The Trust Funds’ General Fund is unrestricted. The Trust Fund also receives donations for specified purposes, which constitute restricted funds. These include funds raised for the Rotary Foundation, including Foundation’s Eradicating Polio Fund, and for disaster relief for specific emergencies. The funds raised for these purposes, after fund-raising expenses and funds used for local action, are passed on to the charities for which they are raised, with directions on the use of any funds raised for specific purposes. The Restricted Fund accumulated deficit of £465.11 at June 30" 2024 arose from gift aid on some donations received for specific purposes, including purposes where the need was urgent, during the year being forwarded to the charities concerned in advance of the receipt of gift aid from His Majesty's Revenue and Customs, which had not yet been received at the end of the year. The balance of £22.30 in restricted funds at June 30" 2025 consists of funds raised specifically for Youth Services.
