Steph¢n MacKinnon. departed, prompting the Board to revicw its 5trnregic direL'tion. A new Gcnerdl Mdnager was
appointed in September 2025. with a focus on daY-t￿daY operntions and IxL8iness S￿8￿]nablI11Y. Subject to fundin&
Development Manager will be re¢￿ited to lead the next ph￿ of capitsi developmeni.
Visitor numbcts wcre up on thc previow8 2023-24 bul werc still below prc£ovid l¢v¢ls.
As of the March 2025 year cnd, the 50ciety Iws a¢hi¢ved a significant milestone with planning pellnission for the
rujevelopment of the visitor centrc now secured. The projeei b&$ progressed to the tender st88¢. with build works
currently out to lender. In parallel. severnl capit81 grant applications are in progress to sutport the nexi phase or
development.

There were departures due lo retirem¢nt and the conclusion of long-standing service, as well as the completion of
seasonal conttacls. The Icam wa5 str¢ngth¢n¢d by new appointments. including roles fimded by ¥Ktcmal grants. such as
the Heritage Officer and VoluTJteer Coordinator. Ongoing positions continued to focus on key area& including
genealogical research in partt)ership with academic insiitutions and the mana8ement of PTepardtory sta8es for
Tedevelopment projects. These apry)intments and transitions demonstra￿ the ￿¢1¢￿5 continued Commitment to
operalional excellence and the advancement of its genealogical and herithge initiatives.
The SpeakGaelic Al course continues to be delivered ai the Hebride5 People Visitor Cenire by UHI North. Wesl &
Hebrides. in partTEership with Bord na Gaidhlig. The course began in earfy 2024 and remains ongoing. In additio
discussions have been held with UHI and Sabhal Mèr Ostsig regarding ￿tUre educaiional collaborlllion.

The charity has soughi advice reguding VAT registration from HendeT50n Loggic and initiated the process to Te￿Ster
for VAT. M'ith the aim of recovering VAT expendittwe on capitsl build works a5 Sile and building development
progre&8es. At the time of writin& registration remains on hold until such time as ¢ap1￿ investment for the
redevelopmeni is secured.
