**What the charity does:** The charity is set up to provide assistance and support for older people and their carers in Port Seton, Cockenzie and the surrounding areas We achieve this by associating the local authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education. We also to provide social welfare, facilities for recreation and other leisure time activities to improve the lives of the aforementioned older people and their carers.

**Objectives:** 4.1 The objectives of the charity are to provide assistance and support for older people residing in the area of benefit, where such provision is in the interests of social welfare and will improve the conditions of life for service users and their families by implementing the following: a. Providing a service that meets the needs of those in the area of benefit. b. Offering support to families and carers through the provision of the respite facility. c. Providing and promoting the provision of the facility for recreation and leisure time activities. d. To seek to provide an environment for learning and educational opportunities where it is felt they will benefit the service user. e. Where required, to provide representation with or on behalf of older people and making available to them all information that assists them in their inquiries. f. To ensure that all staff who work within the charity are appropriately trained to carry out their designated duties. g. To liaise with the Local Authority and other organisations and local communities to ensure that the charity maintains a level of service that is in the best interest of its service users.
