Recruitment and appointment of Trustees
Trustees and Management Team members are appointed or ratified by the members at our annual general meeting. The Management Team ratified the appointment of the new Treasurer, Tami Wilson, and thanked Ron Buchanan who stood down as Treasurer for his long service. The other Management Team members and Chairman were ratified for the coming year.
Governing document
Wave Radio is a charitable unincorporated association and the purposes and administration arrangements are set out in our constitution.
Charitable purposes
Our purposes, as recorded in our constitution, shall be, through the provision of a regular and varied output of radio programmes, to inform, educate and entertain (1) patients in Dr Gray’s Hospital in order to aid their comfort and convalescence (2) the local community in order to promote health and wellbeing. Wherever possible, this service shall also be provided to other Hospitals, Hospices, Old Persons’ Homes and/or similar institutions, and to persons receiving care in the community, in the Moray geographical area.
Activities and achievements
During the year we continued to operate Wave Radio as a 24 hour service both within Dr Gray’s Hospital and as a Community Internet Radio station by broadcasting a range of both daytime and evening programmes to the hospital patients and Moray area community. Our programmes are both by live presenters and the provision of pre-recorded shows when live presenters are not scheduled. Our Outside Broadcast Facility (OBF) is used at local events to increase awareness of Wave Radio in the Moray area and to help with fundraising.
Membership has been maintained this year, however we need to urgently recruit new members. The presenters we currently have cover a range of musical tastes to keep listeners entertained.
There were no major purchases or studio upgrades required this year; only the usual ongoing repairs and maintenance were carried out.
As part of our community information strategy we continue to broadcast, where applicable, Government Public Service Adverts. Also, we continue to provide a free platform to promote better health and community spirit in the local area.
Our committee meetings this year have continued to be carried out remotely online, by phone and in person.
Our OBF was available to support the community and fundraise. We attended events including the Forres Christmas Lights Switch-on, Elgin Rotary Club Motorfun Day and the Moray Motorbike Club annual charity Poker Run.
Remuneration and expenses
The Trustees/Management Team did not receive any remuneration or expenses during the year.
Reserves
As a result of a deficit of £1168.00 for the year, Wave Radio held unrestricted funds of £3959.00 at the year end as noted on the Statement of Balances.
The Trustees/Management Team considers the current financial position of Wave Radio will enable us to continue for the forthcoming year.

Independent examiner’s report
Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees of Wave Radio Dr Gray’s Hospital Broadcasting Service charity number SC024398 report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 December 2025.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examiner’s statement
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
