To provide care , support and education to children with ASN and their families

Objectives: First Steps’ objectives are: (a) To provide a safe, caring, nurturing learning environment where young children living within West Lothian and surrounding areas with additional support needs (ASN) can learn through play, regardless of sex, race, class, creed or colour. (b) To help children develop to their full potential socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually by providing:  A high quality learning environment that enables happiness, confidence, and independence and supports the children to adopt a constructive place in the community and become lifelong learners.  High quality childcare delivered by fully qualified practitioners who are accountable for demonstrating continuous learning and their own professional development in line with SSSC codes of practice.  High quality play materials and equipment in line with National Standard Criteria.  The advancement of education of parents, carers and other appropriate person(s). (c) The organisation is a member of Early Years Scotland having accepted the aims of the Association and paid the appropriate membership subscription. (d) The organisation is registered with The Care Inspectorate having accepted the aims of the regulatory body.
