The charity meets fortnightly during school term time, to provide a 2 course lunch for over 50s on the island and the charity organises speakers, film shows and games and celebrate Christmas, birthdays and Burns Night.

Objectives: The object of the group is to promote the benefit of all persons over the age of fifty in Shapinsay which is now, or hereafter may be deemed, by law to be charitable by:- Co-ordinating volunteers to give practical help and emotional support to elderly and disabled people. Bringing together representatives of statutory and voluntary organisations, & individuals who have a personal or professional interest in the welfare of the elderly. Involving members in matters which concern them. Making representations on behalf of members. Collating and disseminating information for, from and on behalf of members. Initiating, promoting and enabling appropriate services and resources to be established and made available as widely as possible.
