Trustee recruitment and appointment To ensure we follow policy and procedure set out by the Spiritualist and
National Union (SNU), we have committee members and a structure of
president, vice president, treasurer and secretary.
Objectives and activities
Charitable purposes The focus of our charity is to serve the public and teach spiritualism under
the governance of the SNU procedures. We have 2 services per week
where we demonstrate spiritualism to the audience and 2 nights to hold a
development circle.
Summary of the main activities To allow the people of Falkirk & District to have a place where they can
in relation to these objects socialise and improve their mental health by joining a group which has a
shared belief in spiritualism.
We hold services twice per week, providing mental health well being by
offering demonstrations of spiritualism to our congregation.
We offer refreshments to our congregation, and we aim to make the
church feel homely and sociable for our community so that they can relax
and feel a bond to our church.

Summary of the main achievements of This is our first full year back after all the renovations were completed. the charity during the financial period We had 2 fundraisers throughout the year, this is to help with the running costs of the church and also allows us to donate to other charities as well.

Brief statement of the charity’s policy We raise money to keep our doors open by asking for a small donation for on reserves entry to the services or the occasional fundraiser.

Reserves are only ever used to pay membership to the SNU or for the benefit of the church eg repairs, refreshments etc and the occasional donation to another charity.

The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) 2005 Act and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and, consequently, I do not express an audit opinion on the viewgiven bythe accounts.
In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention [other than that disclosed on the attached page*] 1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements: • to keep accounting records in accordance with section 44(1) (a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations, and • to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations have not been met, or 2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
