Structure, Governance and Management Constitution. The Royal Scottish County Dance Society (hereafter RSCDS) Dumfries Branch (hereafter the Branch) is a charitable unincorporated association. Its purposes and administration arrangements are set out in ts Constrtution and Rules. The Branch has a management committee comprising three office bearers (the Tmstees), being The Chair, Honorary Secretary, and Honorary Treasurer and six ordinary members, with powers to fomi su commrttees for specrfic tasks. Appointment of Trustees. Three truste88 are appointed at the AGM, nomialty held in May, for a period of three years, with the three offi￿ Bearers being re-confirnied annually 2. Objectives and Purposes Charitable Purposes. The Branch's purposes, as stated in the Constrtution, a￿ to advance the education of the public in Dumfn"es and the Neighl)ourhood in traditional Scottish Country Dancing, in particular by: Supporting and promoting the work of the RSCDS PreseNng and furthering the practi￿ of traditi'onal Scottish country dances Providing or assisting in tt)e provision of instruction in the danong of Scottish country dances Promoting the enjoyment and appreciatton of Scoth'sh county dancing and its music by any suitable means Holding events which wtll attract and encourage the partiripation of adults. young people and children.

Trustees Annual Report for the year ended 31st March 2026 3. Activities. l. Activities supporting and promoting the work of RSCDS. The Branch has 92 MeM￿r5. Some members have supported national and regional events organized by the RSCDS itself and other Branches Sk)ecifiGally to impfove their knovledge and skills of danang and dances. 2. Preserving and furthering the practice of Scottish Country Dancing. The Branch held three major dances wtth traditional live music since. They both received good atterKlance from our members and visitors from bjrther afield. This past year we continued to hold social dano evenings and encourage visitors as well as MeML￿r$ to c(¥ne and join us for an evening of easy dancing. 3. CourseslCla$ses. Classes are held ￿ryce weeldy for adufts. Both classes aim to encourage beginners to lry out Scottish Country Dan¢ing and hopefully to then become members. We also have a once monthly dass for dan￿r$ wanting to leam more complex dances. At this time, we have no children's dasses. 4. Achlevemènts. Attendance at our classes and social dances has been consistent during the year. and we have attracted a few new members. ￿ are again getting together a group of dancers to attend the Whrte Rose Festival in Leeds in July 2026. 4. Financial Review. The Branch reseryes starKI at £6,183.87 with a deficit of £597.58 for the year. Trustees Remuneration and Expenses. Mrs Jayne R￿det was pabj for teaching a number of dasses, which she donated to reseryes for the 80th anniversary. Mrs Linda Shankland was re1m￿rsed for secretarial expenses. These payments were authorised by the cornm￿ee. Future Plans. A number of our members will be attending the V4hite Rose Festival at Leeds this July. Our Summer Dano (Guid Nychburris) will be held in June. and plans are in hand for the Christmas Dance in December 2026 and Spring Ball in March 2027. 2027 will be the branch's 80th anniversary and we interKt to hold a celebratory anniversary ball.
