We provide free, confidential and impartial advice to all residents of East Dunbartonshire. We cover a wide range of topics from financial, to legal to healthcare advice. So, whatever issue, people need support or advice with our trained advisers will guide them in the right direction. We can check people are receiving all the benefits they are entitled to. And we’ll ensure people are aware of their rights and responsibilities. We know that life can be challenging and that many of the systems in Scotland and the UK can be complicated. We are here to simplify the process for you. We’ll explain the systems, put you in touch with the correct organisations, and help you to access services.

Objectives: 4 The company has been formed to benefit principally the area of East Dunbartonshire (the “Area of Benefit”) with the following objects: 4.1 the advancement of education through (but not limited to) providing individuals with information, clarification and understanding of legislation and their legal rights and responsibilities. 4.2 the relief of those in need through (but not limited to) (i) assessing individuals’ entitlement to welfare benefits. (ii) providing assistance in claiming benefits. and (iii) assisting individuals to appeal against refusal of benefits. 4.3 the advancement of health through (but not limited to) providing a comprehensive advice service which seeks to address individuals’ problems and thereby alleviates the injury to health, stress and anxiety caused by unsolved problems. and 4.4 the advancement of community development through (but not limited to) recruiting, training and developing local citizens to be volunteers in and for the Bureau, who in turn assist members of the public within the Area of Benefit, and in doing so contribute to the development of the Area of Benefit.
