It has performed Tegulaty and with crillcal acclaim to audiences in Edinburgh and many parts of Scotland and celebrated its 50 annNersary in 2022. A tradition of imaginatwe programming and exciting perfoimances has given the Orchestra a unique place in Scotttsh musical life. In recognf(ion of its promolion of contemporary music. the OTchera has Teceived 5eve¥al Awards foi Initialive from the Performing Right Society and was elected in 1999 as an iniiial F)aÈtripamt of the "Adopt-a- Composer, scheme launched ty the PRS in conjunction with the Society foi the Piomolion of New Music. Overall mustcat thice s provided by Peter Evans. who has been the Orchestra's phncipal conductor since ts foundalion in 1972. Comffllttee Report The period covered by this ieport is the year ended 30 June 2025. During our 2024-2025 season, we continued to follow an approach of inviting guest conductors foi some concerts. A comprehensive Equal Opportunities Policy has been adopled. Ticket prices are kept low and there are generous concessKJns espectalty for students and children. to encouiage a younger audience and famity attendan.
