By so doing, it is intended that theological thinking and fellowship may be renewed, the work of churches strengthened, and the task of theological research and education promoted across Europe. These objectives are primarily achieved in two ways: - The organisation of theological conferences - The publication of a theological journal and a newsletter **2** ## **Structure, governance and management** The governing document of FEET is its constitution, the current version of which was adopted by the members on 28 August 2020. The Executive Committee is appointed by the members to administer the charity, and its composition is intended to reflect the geographical diversity within Europe of the charity’s membership. There were no changes to the Executive Committee during the year. ## **Achievements and performance** FEET organises a major conference once every two years, with shorter online conferences arranged in the intervening years. Our last major conference took place in August 2024, in Prague, and a book containing many of the papers given at the conference, and other contributions reflecting upon various national contexts, was published in August 2025. An online conference was held on 28 February – 1 March 2025 to mark the 800[th] anniversary of the birth of Thomas Aquinas. The title was _Thomas Aquinas, the Evangelical?_ – a topic on which one of our Executive Committee members has published a significant book (see https://ivpbooks.com/engaging-with-thomasaquinas). Our next main conference is due to be held on 9 – 13 October 2026 at Golem, Albania. The change in venue from previous years is intended to minimise costs and to encourage attendance, particularly from Eastern Europe, as well as to facilitate close collaboration with the European Evangelical Alliance, whose ‘Hope for Europe’ conference will take place directly beforehand in the same venue. Much of the Executive Committee’s work during 2025 was related to preparing for this conference, and included an in-person planning meeting in Oslo in January 2025 (all other meetings have been held online). The subject for the 2026 conference is _Faithful in Times of Turmoil: Responses to Conflicts, War, and Nationalism in Europe_ . Further details can be found at https://feeteurope.org/conferences/2026-golem-albania. Two editions of the _European Journal of Theology_ were published in 2025. The Journal is a scholarly evangelical journal, published with Amsterdam University Press, and is offered as a service to the evangelical theological community and to the wider church. The Journal welcomes articles on any area of theology by evangelical theologians. It especially encourages submissions by European authors working in Europe, more specifically those outside the Anglo-Saxon and German regions. All articles are double-blind peer-reviewed and each issue **3** contains numerous book reviews. The intended readers are teachers in theological schools, other theologians, ministers and students. Contributions are welcome in French, German or English; contributions in other languages (especially Spanish and Russian) will be considered for occasional publication. and further details may be found on the FEET website at www.feeteurope.org/european-journal-of-theology. FEET also produced a newsletter in 2025; this can be found at www.feeteurope.org/newsletter ## **Financial review** The accounts for the year are included at the end of this report, together with the report of the independent examiner in Siegen, Germany. The charity operates in Euros, and the accounts are prepared in Euros. (For the purpose of the charity’s annual return to OSCR, the figures in the accounts will need to be converted from Euros to Pounds Sterling, and this will be done using an exchange rate of 1 Euro = 0.87 Pounds Sterling.) It may be seen that there was a surplus of income over expenditure during the year of around 4,000 Euros, and a bank balance at the end of the year of nearly 13,000 Euros. However, these figures are somewhat anomalous as explained below. The main cost for the year related to the Executive Committee meeting in Oslo (as already noted, the committee normally meets online). The other major cost incurred during the year related to the journal, but continuing discussions with the publisher meant that this cost (expected to be 3,597.76 Euros) was not paid out during the year. The expenditure during 2026 is therefore likely to be significantly higher than in 2025, due to the payment of two years of costs for the journal, plus the costs associated with the conference in Albania. As usual, almost all of FEET’s income consisted of fees paid by its members. FEET has no employees and does not operate an office, and so its fixed costs are minimal. The Executive Committee therefore has no specific policy on reserves, but monitors the level of membership fees in relation to the costs of conferences and the journal. **4** ## **2026 and beyond** The Executive Committee organised an online conference on 27 – 28 February 2026 to mark the centenary of the birth of the evangelical theologian J. I. Packer. Two further editions of the _European Journal of Theology_ , and further editions of the newsletter, are expected to be published in 2026. Discussions have taken place with Amsterdam University Press about the future of the journal; it is expected that it will continue to be published in both hard copy and electronic form, but the default format for FEET members who subscribe to the journal will become electronic from 2027. As already noted, the Executive Committee’s primary task is currently to arrange the next main conference, in Autumn 2026.
