This is done through the respite scheme where we will provide a trained support worker to care for the person whilst the unpaid carer has a break.  This is done through regular weekly or twice weekly visits or on an as and when needed basis.  We provide information, advice, emotional support, advocacy, adult carer support plans, monthly carers support group, have a library of resources for loan, deliver time to live microgrant fund through Shared Care Scotland.  We sell gloves, wipes, aprons and skin cleansing foam.  We also have wheelchairs and rollators for short term loan.  Crossroads Care Orkney also manages the Orkney Young Carers who are caring for a relative with an illness at home.
