The charity was set up to support activities in the field of outdoor education among pupils and recent former pupils of Woodmill High School, Dunfermline
Beneficiaries: 'Children or young people'
Objectives: The purposes of the Trust are: (a) to advance the education of the pupils of Woodmill High School, Dunfermline (“the School”). (b) to advance the education of recent former pupils of the School and (c) to grant awards to pupils or recent former pupils of the School who have attained the age of sixteen years and who have not yet attained the age of twenty three years on the Twenty eighth day of February in the year in which the awards are made. Awards may also be made to groups of persons, provided the majority of the members are pupils or recent former pupils of the School, within the above age group. The awards will be made to allow the recipient(s) to take part in outdoor activities and will be for (i) funding in part or in whole of participation in outdoor courses or expeditions. (ii) purchase of equipment for outdoor activities and (iii) assistance with outdoor activities in other ways. Provided always that while all outdoor activities will be considered by the Trustees, preference will be given to mountain activities and outdoor water sports. In making awards the Trustees shall give consideration to the educational value to the participants and the extent to which other members of the School and the wider community will benefit. The Trustees shall also consider what other sources of funding might be available to applicants and give the Trust's support to projects which will not succeed without the support of the Trust. While normally Trustees shall make one annual award, they shall be entitled to make more than one or, should in any one year no application of suitable merit be received, no award. The Trustees will be the sole judges of the merit of all applications.
