Objectives: The organisation’s purposes are: 1.The advancement of education by promoting opportunities to encourage members in the process of self-management and self-development and to positively promote to the general public a better understanding of mental health difficulties and ways of dealing with them. 2. The advancement of health by promoting, supporting and providing services to people with mental health needs 3. The saving of lives by having all New Horizons Borders staff trained in suicide prevention 4. To promote equality and diversity by promoting a better understanding of mental health issues and ways of dealing with them. 5. To relieve those in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage through promoting the views of service users and their carers in the planning, maintenance and evaluation of present and future provision
