Castlemilk Youth Complex (CYC) is the lead agency for youth work in the Castlemilk area of Glasgow. It delivers youth, community, and art services to a large membership of over 300 and up to 1000 community members through street- and satellite-based projects. CYC was established in 1994 and has been governed by a Board of young people aged 16­25 since its inception. Our Vision: “Creating a better future by inspiring young people to recognise, raise and achieve their aspirations.” Aims Build young people's self­-esteem and confidence. Develop young people’s ability to manage personal and social relationships. Create learning opportunities for young people to develop new skills. Encourage positive group atmospheres. Build the capacity of young people to consider risk, make reasoned decisions and take control. Help young people to develop a 'world view' which widens horizons, raises aspirations and invites social commitment.

Objectives: The company's objects are: (1) To provide in the interests of social welfare facilities for recreation and other leisure time activity available to the public at large within Castlemilk (referred to as 'the Operating Area') with a view to improving their conditions of life. (2) To advance education through promotion of the arts. (3) To promote training in skills of all kinds, particularly such skills as will assist residents of the Operating Area in obtaining paid employment. (4) To relieve the needs of young person’s suffering from mental or physical disability, illness or impairment. (5) To relieve poverty. (6) To promote, establish, operate and/or support other schemes of a charitable nature for the benefit of the community within the Operating Area.
