The management committee submit their report for the year
ended Thursday 14. March.
The club is governed by a constitution which inter alia states
that the club shall provide activities which further the cultural
education and training of young people and make rural life
more attractive to the young members of the community. The
club is athninistered by a management committee who are
appointed or elected at the Annual General Meeting of the
club.
The club is affiliated to the Scottish Association of Young
farn]ers Clubs, to whom the aifiliation fees are payable. The
club can be contacted through the National Secretary, Scottish
Association of Young Farn]ers, Young Farn]ers Centre,
Ingliston, Edinburgh, EH28 8NE quoting the club name.

The club continued to hold a varied syllabus throughout the
year all of which met the objectives of the club. The syllabus
comprised of various competitions such as stock judging.
sports and handicrafts. The club held many fundraising events
such as a coffee morning for the British Heart Foundation and

regularly helped in the local community. for example
dismantling old playground equipment at sandhead primary
school. We kept in regular contact with YMCA running
another month of Santa's float and held our second Xmas
trdctor run. The club also held many fun events for our new
and present members such as a club day OUL our Stranraer
Does Strictly funth3iser, many interclub relations. an
exchange and water sports mornings. Many members
represented the club at districL regional and national levels
with a lot of success along the way.
Throughout the year, the club perfonned well with a full
syllabus planned. Many members represented the club at

our main highlights. with S&R Green

speechmaking team were also I. at D&G and won the quiz
too! ￿ taking best overall speaker on the day.

including the McKie boys winning 1°,2" & 3" in junior
photography, junior twn were 3. overall and senior team 5.

charity fundraiser on the 12° October wher¢ 6 couples put on a
strictly competition performance raising £2100 for club funds
and the ARC. Several other charity fundraisers and
community work followed through the year.
The club will continue to organise activities which meet the
objectives of the club. Continuing to attract new members,
retain current members and fundraising will help to ensure the
viability of the club for many years to comc.
