Objectives: purpose is to promote the welfare of elderly persons in the milngavie area. the commitee shall initiate and implement initiatives aimed at promoting the welfare of older people. Complement the work of statutory bodies and other organisations by providing activities for physical and mental recreation or further resources to support older people in the community. Bring together in conference and work with local voluntary organisations, statutory authorities and individuals to further the objects of the organisation. Assist in the alleviation of poverty by ensuring older people are aware of their benefit entitlements. acting as an advocate on behalf of older people. making representation on behalf of older people and campaigning for the rights of older people. organise, or assist in the organisation of, displays, exhibitions, meetings, classes, seminars or training courses which promote the objects of the organisation. Carry out research or survey work on needs of older people and present these fact to relevant authorities and organisations having the power to alleviate any problems identified. Collect and dessimate information on all matters affecting the objects. Purchase, lease, hire or otherwise acquire any property and any rights and privileges necessary for the promotion of the objects. Raise money in order to meet the objects of the commitee.
