CHAIRPERSON'S REPORT
As usual the choir restarted rehearsals at the beginning of Sertember after the summer
break. Reryuitment of new members to the choir wa8 qurte Successful arKI ts total number
of members in thoir increa8ed to 78, up by 6 previou8 year.
The season of 2Q24-25 vm the third year folbkniffj the ￿riod of the Covid pandemic in
which the operat￿n of the choir coukl be cOr￿ldered to be completely rKxmal in tem18 of the
attendance of ret*ar8a18 and perfomiirvJ of ￿￿cert8.
The autumn concert was wrfomi•d on 24th November 2024 at St Margaret'8 Church In
Newlands, Glasgow. The wogramme of music w88 comprised of'Ma9nfficat' by J S Bach
and excerpts from 'Tho Chri8tma8 Oratorio,. al80 by Bach. Th eoncert was well attended
and generat￿ conc•rt receipts of £1728. Feedback from the audience wa8 enthu81a8tlc and
very p08itive.
The Spring concert was perf0m￿d on 30th March 2025 at St Margaret'8 Church in Newland8,
Gla8gw. The programme of mulk comprf8•d of a 8ele(*ion of opera cl￿rUS•S. Th8
concert wa8 agaln well attendod arKI knwnerated I￿nCert recdskn of £2809.

year.
The general view of the committ86 18 that the choir ha8 vKathered thè storm of the pandemlc
and ha8 •m•rged in a healthy state and atAe to continue our development. The choir has an
excellent mu8ical dlrector In TIM Rhodts, excellent piano acmnpanist in Jane Wlliam80n,
strong and 8¢tive commlttee and an enthu8la8tic momber8hlp. Recrultment of new members
18 looking encouraging for the gyning year and finances are in good shape.

are suff5cient to gNe the choir lon￿8￿ stabilty. The aim of the commrttee is to maintain
funds at a level approximately equal to the level of annual payments, which 18 now ab(xrt
£11,000. This ensures that significant setbacks or Unex1￿rted circum8tances,
experienced during the pandemic. can be managed without the choir having to Stop
operating. The above 8tated policy has been maintsined for many year8 rK￿ *ith good

The tha[￿S trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in a￿ordan￿ with the
terms of the Chariti8s and Trustee Investment (Scolland) Act 2005 the Charities
Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amerKW. The Charity trustees consKler that the audit
requirement of Regulation 10(1 > (d) of the 2006 A￿)Unts Regulations does not apply. It is my
responsibilty to examine the accounts as required under sedj'on 44(1) (c) of the Act and to stats
whether partiujlar matters have c(xne to my attention.

My examination is carried out in accordance wrth RgJuiats"on 11 of the 2006 A¢¢ounts
Regulats'ons. An examinab'on includes a revi￿4 of the accountirvJ records kept by the charity and
a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It atso indudes consid8ration of any
unusual items or disdosures in ts a￿￿unts. and seeks explanations from the trustee8
conceming any such matters The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evldence that
would be required tn an audit, and consequently I do not express an audFi opinion on the view
given by the accounts.
