The trustees Present their annual report and financial statements of the charity for the period ended
31 December 2024. The financial slalements have been prepared in accordance wlh the accounting policies
set out in Note 110 the accounts and comply with the charity's tsusl deed, thè Charities and Trustee Investment
Iscotlandl Act 2005, the Charities Accounts (Scollandl Regulations 20¢% las amended) and Accounting and
Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable lo charities preparing their a¢coun15 In
accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland published on
16 July 2014.

ectives and Revlew of Activities
The objectives of the society are to provide facilities for such fomis of reciealion and other leisure lime
occupation as are conducive to the improvement of the condits'ons of living of the inhabitants of Mus5elburgh,
Port Seton. Cockenzie, Prestonpans and the neighbourhood thereof within the Society's sphere of operats'on
as defined from lime to bme and in particular Ibut not exclusively) such of the inhabitants as are members
of the Mining Community provided that nothing herein contained shall the applicats'on of the propety to
which are not in law charitable. The Society shall not be identified wlih any paty or secl.
The Clubhouse and Golf Course facilities have again been used free of charge by numerous Charits'es to help
finance their fund raising schemes. Many concessionery Fourball tee times on the GOW Course are given as
fund raising donations lo Charities.
We will ¢onlinue lo allow charitsble fvnd raising events to be held within our premises provided that they meet
the lemis and regulations pertaining lo our licence.

Business Review and Plans for the Future
Over the past year the management team has continued to give specific direction to departmental heads
with regard to cost saving Measu￿$, whilst also ¢onlinuing lo efthan￿ the members and visitors experience
at Preslongrange. The importance of a cohesive governance stnjcture is now well embedded into the
organisation, with active participab.on from the management team in all aspects of the forward pknning
requirements, particularly in relation lo major capitsl projects.
The importance of placing the organisab'on at the corre¢l point in the mathet has meant continued refreshment
of the membership and visitor focus throughout the year. This has been mainly due lo changes in the national
and european polttical ¢lim*e and will conb'nue to influence policy going fo￿ard.
The main drive for improvements on the golf Coufse is broken down into manageable and affordable projects",
which inevitably leads lo taking more lime lo achieve the end result,. bul always working within the budgetary
framework.

1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES
(al Ba$1$ of prgparation and assessment of going concem
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention wlh items
recognised at cost or transaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevant notes to these
accounts. The financial ststernenls have been prepared in accordance with the Slalement of
Recommended Practi¢e'. Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in
accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland
(FRS 102} issued on 16 July 2014 and the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the United
Kingdom and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021, the Charities and Trustee Investment Iscollandl Act
2005 and the Charits'es Accounts (S¢ollandl Regulations 2006 las amended).
The trustees consider that there are no materk?l uncertainties about the Trusvs ability to
continue as a going concern. The trustees have a reasonable expectation that the Trust has
adequate reseNes lo continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Accordingly,
the trustees continue to adopt the going concern basis in the preparation of the accounts.

Donations are recognised when they are received.
