Independent Examlnerfs Report to the Trustees of Royal Burgh of Crall Festlval Society Trust (Scottlsh Charity Number SC020929) I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 30th September 2022. Respectlve responsibilitles of trustees and examiner The charlty's trustees are responsible for the preparatlon of the accounts In accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the 2006 Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basls of Independent examlner's statement My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulatlon 11 of the 2006 Accounts Regulatlons. An examlnatlon Sncludes a revlew of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented wlth those records. It also includes conslderatlon of any unusual Items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provlde all the evldence that would be requlred in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audlt opinion on the view given by the accounts. Independent examlner's statement In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention which gives me reasonable cause to belleve that In any materlal respect the requlrements: to keep accounting records In accordance wlth Sectlon 44(1) (a) of the 2005 Act and Regulatlon 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations, and to prepare accounts whlch accord with the accounting records and comply wlth Regulatlon 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulatlons have not been met, or 2. to whlch, In my oplnlon, attentlon should be drawn In order to enable a proper understandlng of the accounts to be reached. 3. The 2022 Accounts disclose a deficit of £3,267. However this deficit has arlsen due to one off costs such as legal fees £1,800 for conversion to SCIO, Inltlal deposlt ft)r In5tallatlon of water supply to putting green £1,248 and equipment £1,850. While further costs may be Incurred for converslon to SCIO and Installatlon of water supply at this stage the Society should hold sufficient funds to meet these costs and also meet ongoing running costs. To that end the charity organises an annual summer festival and also arranges events at other times of the year. 21 In the accounting period ended September 2022 the main festival was held from 20 -301h July. 31 Any equipment bought during the year remains in the po&session of the Trust and is available for their fvture use or (where appropriatel for hlre by other bodles. 41 The charity does not maintain specific reserve5 or designated funds. 51 Donated services in the period to September 2022: the Independent Examiner did not charge a fee. The charity has no salaried staff and its operation depend5 upon unpaid volunteÈrs. Accommodation necessary for the administration of the charity is made available at private residen￿5.
