Structure and Govèrnance
In terms of the Charities and Trusteè InvÈstment IScot13ndl Art 2005 and the Charities
A¢¢¢uftts (Scotlandl RegulatSons 2006, the Vèstry reports as follow5..
l. St Maelrubha's Scottlsh Eplscopal Church, Poolewe is a reglstered Scottish Charlty
ISC0203891.
2. It 15 a member of the Diocese of Moray, Ross and Calthness of the 5cotttsh Eplscopal
Church and 15 in full communion with the An8lic3n Church.
3. The superior authorlty Is the Bishop of Moray, Ross & Caithness
4. All of its affairs are governed by the Vestry,

The Church's principal activitles Include publlc worshlp In sa¢ramentand Prayer, Chr15tlan
educatlon. charltable work and fund raisin8 for local, natlonal and internatlonal needs, soclal
meetin8s, predomlnantly the youth and elderly and ¢ommunltV 8roup5 Of all age5 and
outreach to the many vlsltors to the area during summer months.

The Vestry 15 grateful for all the tlme freely8lven byvolunteer5, wlthout whom many of the
actlvitleswould be unable to operate.
Achievements and Performance
The Church continue5 to make It5 facllltles 8vallable for use and to provide worshlp for the
whole community.
Flnancl31 Revlew
The accounts show a surplus foi the year of £1,80512024: deficit £3.4181.
letting income from Church House decreased this year, but so éid expenditure on
maintenance and repairs and renewals. There was a Significant increase electricity ¢OSt$
for Church House, sllghtly offset by a refund from the supplier. A switth to a more cost
effectlve supplier has resulted in reduced utility tosts for the Church Hall and the same Is
planned for the Church House.
The accounts shDw that total receipts have decreased to £20.68812024.' £25,103> but that
total expendlture also decreased to £18,88312024.. £28,5211, excluding Fairtrade income

The Vestry has adopted a pollcy of tryingto maintsin a level of unrestricted reserves such
that, in the event of a si8nificant drop in incorne. the Church would be able to malntaln Its
current level of activities for a reasonable period until replacement funding is obtained. As
of 30 September2025 the charity held reserves ol £19,554 in the bank and a unit trust
investment wSth a marketvalue of £15,224.
The charlty has sutticient reservesto contSnue to operate forthe foreseeable future.
Statement of the Vestry Member's Responslbllltles
The members of the Vestry must prepare financial statements whlch 8lve sufficlent detall to
enable an appreciation of the transactions of the Church durlng the finantial yèar. The
members of the Vestry are responsible for keepin8 proper accounting records which, on
request, must reflect the currènt financi81 pgsltion of the Church at that tlme. Thls must be
done to ensure tliat the financial statements comply with the Charltles and Investment
Ikotlandl art 2005 and Charitles Accounts (Scotlandl regulation5 2006. They are also
responsible for sale8uardln8 the assets of the Church and must take reasonable steps for the
preventlon and/or detection ol fraud and other irre8ularltles.

I report on the accounts of the Charity for the year ended 30th September 2025 as set out

The charl￿S trustees are re5ptsnsiblefor the preparatlon of the accounts In accordance with
the terms of the Charities and Trustee lrnvestment Iscotlandl 2005 Art and the Charltles
Accounts (Scotlandl Re8ulatlons 2006. The charlty trustees considerthat the audit rÈquirement
of Re6ulatltsn 10111 Idl of the Account5 Regulations does not apply. It is my re5ponsibllity to

My examlnatlon Is carrled OUI in accordance with Regulatlon 11 of the CharSties Accounts
