Unity supports people who are vulnerable or at risk of disadvantage. We do this in a variety of ways including programmes to support adults with learning difficulties and services to help young and adult unpaid carers. We also operate a social enterprise, the Spoon Café, whose proceeds help to enhance our services further.

Objectives: 4. The company’s objects are: 4.1 To relieve social exclusion by the provision of support services, training activities and employment opportunities for adults and young people in Scotland who have encountered social, educational and physical barriers, mental health issues and learning disabilities. To empower such individuals, enrich their lives and enable them to achieve positive outcomes by providing appropriate support through: 4.1.1 The promotion of companies whose activities are directed towards the provision of necessary support, training and employment for people who have encountered barriers or challenges in obtaining appropriate support, the provision of paid employment for such persons, the acquisition and holding of shares, stocks, debentures and other interests in companies whose activities are so directed and the provision of managerial supervisory and consultancy services to, or in respect of, such companies. 4.1.2 The provision of advice and assistance with regard to the establishment and operation of enterprises whose activities are directed towards the aims of cultural, social and economic inclusion of adults and young people with disabilities or disadvantages. 4.1.3 The promotion and implementation of schemes of community benefit of a charitable nature. and 4.1.4 The provision of care, support services, training and employment opportunities. 4.2 To carry on any other activity which may be advantageously carried on in connection with any of the objects of the company.
