Appointment of Trustees Trustees are appointed from the members. and hold office subject lo an annual vole ofthe members al the Annual General Meeting. The Provost of the Cathedral is. ex officio, chairman of the Friend5. Rl$k managèm•nt The Trustees consider thal due to the charity's small size and simplicity there is no material risk to which it is exposed. Th8 Sltuation is reviewed at each meeting. In 2015116, the charity received a substanlial 18ga¢y. Mosl ol the legacy has now been disbursod in the fomi of grants to Cathedral-related projècts. During the finanaal year lo 31 March 2022. thè Trustees agrèèd lo invest some of its reserves in the Scottish Episcopal Church's Unil Trust Pool to generate investment income. Objectives and Activities The charity was founded in 1959 to enable Friends of ihe Cathedral to contribute lowards special projects which would not otherwise be funded. AehSevements and Performance The Friends have conlinued lo support the Cathedr81. In 2025126 the Friends gave ¢Jonalions towards the repair of doors al the Cathgdral, a peal board for the bellringers and song sheets for the Community Carol concert. Following thg receipt of a substantial legacy in 2015116, the Truslees acknowledge that the charity's bank reserves of £27,414 and investments held of £45,666 exceed Ihe Oicy level and will erHJeavour lo find projects on which lo draw down the reserves. Investment pollcy The Truslees invested £50,C4)O in the Scottish Episcopal Church's Unit Trust Pool. The performance of the UTP can be viewed online each month and a decision to realise some or all of the investrnenl will be made based on perf0rrnan￿ or the need to award further donations lo St Mary's Cathedral. The charity's Trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10111 Idl ol the 2006 Accounts Regulations does nol apply. It is my responsibility to examine the Accounts s required under Section 44111 Icl of the Act and to stsle whether particular matters have come to my 8ttention. The procedures undertakèn do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the Accounts.
