We also had very large and enthusastic audiences for early music group Red Priest and for a stunning woodwind and piano performance from and fellow principals from the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. Other wonderful concerts were given by the Marmen and Resol String Quartets, on violin and piano, and the Odysseus Piano Trio. One very special night was the return to Nairn of (tenor) with on piano. grew up in Nairn and most of us remembered his beautiful voice as a teenager. It is no surprise that he is now singing leading roles with Scottish Opera. Sadly had to cancel because of snow. He is returning in the 2025/26 season. We were very grateful to our audiences who have supported us so brilliantly and make it possible for us to present such first class programmes in Nairn. **Grants:** Sincere thanks are due to: Chamber Music Scotland. £2700 The Pear Tree Fund for Music who gave is £1650 to support the outreach programme. The 100 club remains popular and helps in a fun way to boost our income. ## **Outreach** In June 2024 we sponsored a hugely successful children’s concert by Inverness Symphony Orchestra – favourite kids movie music, and almost 200 young and old ‘children’ attended. Darth Vader and his stormtroopers and a crowd of rascally pirates in the second violins also delighted the audience! It is very important to introduce youngsters to live music and foster community links. In autumn we promoted a storytelling and music performance by local violin and cello teachers which attracted 70 children, and later in the season one of our string quartets held a ‘listening’ workshop for secondary school youngsters, then the Renard wind quintet gave two short concerts for primary 4 and 5s in Millbank Primary School. ## **Season 2025/26** Nine high quality and very varied performances have been booked commencing on September 13[th] 2025. Nairn Community and Arts Centre provides a wonderful auditorium with our beautiful piano, much praised by visiting performers and a very welcoming environment for all. We very much hope that members will support live music in Nairn as enthusiastically as they have done this year.
