These obj¢ctives arc wi¢wed annually by the trustees as part of the approval pmcess prior to the
submission of this report and did not necessitate changing whilst th¢ Pottery Us¢rs Group (PUG)
remained in partnership with the Adult Educatiott {AE) authority in South Bridge. However, with the
pending relocation of the wrtery studio to Leith Walk. City of Edinl)urgh Council (CEC) is changing
the relationship between PUG and AE from that of parthers to that of14ndlord/t¢nant. A liccnce
agreement is in the proce&8 of being finalis￿ to cover fu￿re PUG meM1￿r usage of the new studio. It
will have an impact ort the aknve Purwises which will be therefote Teviewed On￿ the Licence has been
signed.

The maximum numberof trustees is seven which the memt*rs elect each year at the AGM (most recent
held on l Febnwy 2024) as the group has been inactive other than regular TTUStee M¢rtings to pursue
new arrang¢m¢nt detatls for usage of the new Studio at Leith Walk. An AGM will ￿ h¢ld once all
details of the Lease A8re¢mcnt have been f￿all￿d.

The trustees have assessed the major risks to which th¢ Group is exTK)sed and ate satisfied that systems

Achievements
Following the agreement in 2024 at a COUDCII meeting thai PUG would be given ai least comparnble
use of the new CEC wttery studio facilitie& the management committee of trustees worked Closely

giving advice and guidance on the many and divetse practicalities of establishing a n¢w
pottery studio in the premises at 164a L¢ith Walk
working with Scott CampiKII (prOj￿t manager for the wttery sttKlio's relcKation from
SBRC from Leith Walk) to develop a Licence agreement which sets out the tenns and
conditions of a fil￿re lease agreement between CEC and PUG in temis of the usage of the
new studio. A key agreed principle of this agreement is that CEC will not Profil from PUG
usage and that all PUG costs must be self-fin8ncing.
The management committee has also worked exta]siv¢ly to plan for the implementation of
rrang¢ments within PUG to meet the new operational requirements. These include supervision
arrangements for all PUG s￿510n& insurance for usag< access to the studio, new studio guideline4
induction procedures and ongoing operational mana8em¢nt 8rran8m¢nts.
PUG membership has had to remain path8ed through the year 2025-26. All previous members have
been both consulied and kept infornied of developments through IM)th fae&ts)-fa¢¢ m¢etings and
email. Previous members will hav¢ priority access to membership when the new facilities become
available as soon as possible in 2026.
Review of the Group name is also required and this will be add￿SSed as an element of the
ftrran8ements cuttently under d¢vek)pmenl. There is a fornlal re£ognition by the management
committee that 8n AGM be held ￿ soon as PKJssible after the resumirtton of PUG 0￿ration.

The trustees are re5w)nsible for the preparation of the accounts in aLYordan¢e with the ternis of the
Chariiies and Trustees Investment (Scotland) Act 2￿)5 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland)
Regulations 2006 (&5 amended). The ¢harity'5 tr￿leeS consider that the audit requir¢rn¢nts of
Regulation 10(1) (d) of the 2006 Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to
examine the firMJ¢ia] ststemerrts as rquired under section 44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether
particular matters have Come to my anerfion.

My Cxamination was carricd out in accordan¢¢ with Regulation I l of The Charities Accounts
IS¢otland) Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the
charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration
