The Executive Committee has pleasure in presenting their report together with the financial statement and independent examiner's report for the year ending 31st March 2026.

The Group name is 3[rd] East Kilbride (55[th] Lanarkshire) Scout Group, 24 Carlyle Drive, Calderwood, East Kilbride, G74 3ER.
Constitution & Purpose
The Scout Group is constituted in terms of the Policy Organisation Rules of the Scout Association, which is a charitable body incorporated by Royal Charter. The Group is a registered Scottish Charity – No SC018745
The purpose of the Scout Association is to help young people achieve their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and. international communities. The method of achieving the aim of the association is by providing an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and Law and guided by adult leadership.

Activities and Achievements
Our Scout Group concluded the census in January with 187 young people (160 young people + 27 Explorers), marking a slight increase on the previous year. We are supported by 44 adult volunteers across team members, trustees, and programme support. We currently manage a waiting list of 83 young people (24 of whom are under 4 years old).
programme highlights included a very successful fundraising Ceilidh in March at a new venue. Our Group Camp hosted 125 young people, offering a wide range of activities. Looking ahead, we are planning a Memory Café for 23rd August to celebrate the group's 70th birthday.
At our Group Camp, we celebrated the service of our volunteers, bidding a fond farewell to Joan, who retired after 27 years, and Lorraine and Lesley, who have stepped away. We were delighted to welcome several new volunteers.
The Accounts have been independently examined and all is in order.
Reserve Policy
In addition to the running costs attributed to activities and the maintenance of our Scout Hall, we continue to retain a financial reserve to enable us to react to unexpected building maintenance or to support any shortfall for unexpected expenses. The Trustee Board remains committed to maintaining these reserves to ensure the long-term sustainability of the group and its ability to provide high-quality scouting activities.

Independent ExamlrteY'5 report to the Trustees of 3 East Kllbride Scout Group I report on the accounts of the Group for the year ended 31 March 2026. Respectlve responslbllltles of trustee5 and examiner The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment Iscotlandl Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotlandl Regulations 2006 las amended). The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10111 Idl of the 2006 Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accourbts as required under section 4411) Icl of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of independent exarniner'5 Statement My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts. Independent examinerfs statement In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my atterktion which gives me reasonable cause to believe that In any material respect the requirements- to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44111 lal of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations to prepare accounts which accord with the accountins records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations have not been met, or 2. to which, in my opinion. attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
