St Peter's Episcopal Church, Inverkeithing Report of the Vestry (Trustees' Report) Year ended 30 September 2025
Charitable objective
The principal objective is to organise services for public worship according to the Bible and to encourage prayer, Bible reading and other related activities to the propagation and nurture of Christian faith and life.
Structure and Governance
The congregation is constituted under the Canons of the Episcopal Church and its affairs are conducted according to the 2013 Constitution: i.e. to manage and safeguard the assets of the Church and assist the Rector in matters affecting the spiritual welfare of the congregation. If the Rector retires then the Vestry as a whole will constitute the leadership of the church.
The Vestry is responsible for managing and safeguarding the assets of the Church and leading the church in matters affecting the spiritual welfare of the congregation. They are also responsible for keeping proper accounting records and ensuring that the Accounts are prepared in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The Vestry regularly considers the risks faced by St Peter's and ensures that appropriate risk management procedures are in place to mitigate those risks.
Appointment of Vestry Members
All members of the Vestry are the Charity Trustees of St Peter's Episcopal Church.
The Vestry members are elected by members of the congregation at the Annual General Meeting.(or at extraordinary general meeting in this year) Vestry Members serve for a term of one year and are eligible for reelection. In the case of the Rector retiring the AGM will be chaired by an appointed representative of the Vestry. The Independent Examiner is also elected at the Annual General Meeting.

St Peter's Episcopal Church, Inverkeithing
Report of the Vestry {Trustees' Report)
Year ended 30 September 2025
Activities and Achievements
The Church continues to provide for worship each week on Sunday mornings and through other midweek events. St Peter’s also engages with the wider community via involvement in the Inverkeithing Highland Games and a Christmas Open Mic event, along with an active Youth Group, among other activities.
A little over half of St Peter's congregation decided to leave the Scottish Episcopal Church in June 2025, and so St Peter's has significantly reduced in size in 2025 as a result. However, we continue to welcome new church members and visitors over the last few months. We remain without a Rector following the retirement of our former Priest-in-charge in August 2024, but have a variety of speakers and leaders from within the congregation who have demonstrated a great willingness to serve and bless the church. Our Sunday services have regained a lot of what led them to be a special blessing to the congregation, and we have found that our midweek Connect groups have been most encouraging in building relationships.
We meet at Inverkeithing High School which we rent to use on Sunday mornings. Our time here is limited by the move of the High School to Rosyth in 2026, and we continue to pray and seek God for a venue that we can use in its place, including through the week for the various events we would like to do to reach out to the community.
Following the departure of most of our former leadership team in June 2025, the remaining congregation appointed a new Vestry to lead the church, and we have recently been helped by the appointment of Rev Mike Parker to act as an Interim Minister, providing guidance and assistance. We will be prayerfully considering where we will look for leadership in the future. There are currently no plans to re-link St Peter's with our sister churches St Columba's in Aberdour and St Serfs in Burntisland.
Financial Review
A deficit of £8,601 (2024 - £1,018) has been recorded during this financial year on Unrestricted Income and Expenditure.

- Funds for a contribution towards provision of development of St Peter's own building.
Details of the reserve are outlined in the Note 9 to the Accounts.
